Chicago, IL (January 18, 2026) – Emergency crews responded on Friday afternoon to a traffic accident involving injuries near the intersection of West 14th Street and South Ashland Avenue on Chicago’s Near West Side. The collision was reported around 3:44 p.m. on January 16 and involved two vehicles.
Fire and EMS units were observed arriving on the scene shortly after the incident was reported. Responders began assisting injured individuals at the scene, though the exact number of victims and the severity of their injuries have not yet been disclosed.
The crash took place in a busy mixed-use corridor not far from the Illinois Medical District, where traffic congestion is common, and visibility can be impacted by parked vehicles and heavy pedestrian activity.
