Pulaski Co, MO (January 19, 2026) – A serious two-truck accident on eastbound I-44 early on Sunday morning left one man hospitalized and resulted in both vehicles being totaled near the 150-mile marker.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:24 a.m. on January 18 in Pulaski County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash involved a 1998 Kenworth semi and a 2021 Volvo truck, both traveling eastbound on I-44. Authorities stated that the Kenworth, driven by a 59-year-old man from Elverta, CA, struck the rear of the Volvo under undetermined circumstances.
The driver of the Kenworth sustained serious injuries and was transported to Phelps Health for medical treatment. He was reportedly wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The driver of the Volvo, a 25-year-old man from Brampton, Ontario, was not injured.
Both trucks were heavily damaged in the collision and had to be removed by separate towing companies, Jack’s Towing for the Kenworth and J&S Towing for the Volvo.
Trooper C.L. Park handled the investigation on the scene. The incident remains under review to determine the precise factors that led to the collision.
