Lincoln Co, MO (January 19, 2026) – A serious multi-injury accident involving a teen driver and multiple Middletown residents occurred on Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 161 and Highway PP, sending four people to area hospitals.
The crash was reported at approximately 4:05 p.m. on January 18. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision took place when a 17-year-old girl driving a 2024 Ford Bronco westbound on Route PP failed to yield to a southbound 2011 Chrysler Town & Country on Missouri 161. The Bronco struck the left side of the Chrysler with its front right end, resulting in major damage to both vehicles.
Several individuals were hurt in the crash, including an 8-year-old boy riding in the Chrysler, who sustained serious injuries. He was airlifted by MU Survival Flight to St. Louis Children’s Hospital. The 64-year-old male driver of the Chrysler, also from Middletown, suffered serious injuries and was flown by Hannibal Regional Survival Flight to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.
Two other individuals were also transported for treatment. A 62-year-old male passenger in the Chrysler was taken by Pike County Ambulance to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital in Lake St. Louis with moderate injuries. The teen driver of the Bronco was taken to Pike County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
All parties involved were reportedly wearing safety restraints at the time of the crash. Both vehicles were totaled and removed by separate tow companies.
CPL. K. R. Bechaud led the investigation at the scene, assisted by Sgt. A. L. Bryan and deputies from the Pike County Sheriff’s Office. The incident remains under investigation.
