Chicago, IL (January 19, 2026) – Several individuals were reported injured following a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of South Tripp Ave and West 55th St in Chicago’s West Elsdon neighborhood.
The collision occurred around 8:28 p.m., involving three to four vehicles. Chicago Fire Department crews were already on the scene providing emergency medical care when they requested police assistance for traffic control due to the extent of the incident.
Injuries were confirmed, though details regarding their severity remain limited. Paramedics treated those hurt in the crash and transported them as needed for further medical care.
Chicago Police Department units responded shortly after to assist in managing the flow of traffic and ensuring the scene remained secure for investigation.
Officials have not yet released additional information on the cause of the crash, and the incident remains under investigation.
