Long Beach, CA (January 19, 2026) – A man riding an electric bicycle lost his life following a tragic crash Friday night in north Long Beach. The incident occurred around 9:40 p.m. on January 16 along Artesia Boulevard near Indiana Avenue, according to local authorities.
The Long Beach Police Department reported that the man was traveling eastbound in the far-left lane of Artesia Blvd when he may have lost control of the e-bike and collided with the center median curb. The impact caused the rider to be thrown from the bicycle.
Long Beach Fire Department crews arrived on scene and provided immediate medical aid before transporting the injured man to a nearby hospital. Despite lifesaving efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office is currently working to identify the victim, and no further information has been released at this time regarding his identity or the exact cause of the crash.
