Temecula, CA (January 19, 2026) – A traffic collision involving two vehicles caused injuries and significant lane blockages early Monday morning on southbound Interstate 15 near Rancho California Rd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:23 a.m. and involved a black Hyundai sedan and a second unidentified four-door vehicle. CHP logs indicated that one vehicle was blocking the #2 lane and another was obstructing the #4 lane, prompting officials to temporarily stop all lanes to manage the scene safely.
Emergency crews were called to the site, including medics to assist an injured CHP officer. The collision was quickly upgraded to an injury crash, and Rancho Springs Medical Center was notified to receive at least one patient.
Towing services were dispatched for vehicle removal, and both Rancho Tow and S & R Towing were involved in clearing the scene. Traffic delays continued until the wreckage was removed and all lanes were reopened.
The incident remains under investigation as officials work to determine what led to the crash.
