Hermitage, TN (January 20, 2026) – A crash involving injuries was reported in the early morning hours of Tuesday along Interstate 40 East in the Hermitage area of Davidson County.
The accident occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. on January 20 near Exit 221A, where northbound traffic from Route 45 merges onto I-40 E at The Hermitage interchange. Emergency medical services and fire crews arrived quickly to assist individuals injured in the crash. Multiple victims were treated at the scene, and at least one person was transported for additional medical evaluation. The extent of injuries has not yet been made public.
The crash temporarily disrupted traffic flow near the interchange, and lane closures were implemented to allow responders to safely manage the scene. Officials have not yet confirmed how many vehicles were involved or what may have caused the collision.
An investigation is underway by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department’s traffic division to determine the factors that contributed to the early morning crash.
