Jefferson, MO (January 20, 2026) – A two-vehicle accident early Monday morning in Jefferson County left four individuals injured—two seriously—after a head-on collision on Gravois Rd near Terrace Dr.
The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. when a 2004 Dodge Durango, driven by a 55-year-old woman from House Springs, traveled into the northbound lane under unclear circumstances. A 2017 Toyota Sienna, traveling north and occupied by three others, attempted to swerve out of the way but was unable to avoid the oncoming vehicle. The front ends of both vehicles collided with significant force, resulting in total damage to each.
Emergency medical personnel from both North Jefferson County Ambulance and Big River Ambulance responded swiftly to the scene. The 43-year-old driver of the Sienna sustained serious injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital South for treatment, along with her two passengers—a 20-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl—both of whom suffered minor injuries. The driver of the Dodge, who was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, also sustained serious injuries and was taken to the same hospital.
Northwest Towing assisted in clearing the roadway, removing both disabled vehicles from the scene. Authorities closed the affected portion of Gravois Rd for a period during the morning hours while Trooper N.W. Stevens and Sgt. J.R. Campbell conducted a preliminary investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
No official cause has been released, but early reports indicate that vehicle #1 entered oncoming traffic, triggering the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
Our thoughts are with all those injured in this incident, and we wish them a safe and steady recovery.
