Butler Co, MO (January 20, 2026) – A woman was hospitalized after a two-vehicle accident late Monday night in Butler County. The collision occurred near the intersection of Township Line Rd and County Rd 470, just before midnight.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash took place around 11:55 p.m. and involved two vehicles traveling northbound on Township Line Rd. A 2014 Hyundai Elantra, driven by a 29-year-old woman from Poplar Bluff, was making a left turn when a 2018 Ford Flex attempted to overtake it. The Ford struck the Hyundai during the maneuver, then veered off and collided with an embankment.
The 26-year-old female driver of the Ford Flex, also from Poplar Bluff, sustained moderate injuries. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the Hyundai was reportedly uninjured and was able to drive her vehicle from the scene.
The Ford Flex sustained total damage and was removed by Woolard’s Wrecker. The Hyundai Elantra had extensive damage but remained operable.
Trooper E. N. Stinson is handling the ongoing investigation into the crash. Further information may be released as it becomes available.
