Pacific Beach, CA (January 20, 2026) – A heartbreaking hit-and-run collision claimed the life of 6-year-old Hudson Stephen O’Loughlin on Saturday afternoon as he was riding his bicycle with his parents along Pacific Beach Dr, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. on January 17, in the 1500 block of Pacific Beach Dr near Ingraham St. Investigators say Hudson was attempting to cross an alley when a vehicle entered the same alley and struck him. Though the driver initially stopped, the vehicle then ran over the child and fled the scene.
San Diego police and firefighters responded quickly and found Hudson suffering from severe injuries. He was transported to a nearby hospital where, despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced deceased.
Authorities later located the suspect vehicle in National City and identified the driver as a 32-year-old woman, who has since been taken into custody in connection with the fatal incident.
