Springfield, MO (January 21, 2026) – Emergency crews responded early on Tuesday morning to a motor vehicle accident with reported injuries near the intersection of E Lark St and S Fremont Ave, not far from the Mercy building in Springfield.
The incident occurred around 6:55 a.m. and involved at least two vehicles. According to initial dispatch information, the vehicles had pulled into the southwest corner of the intersection near the medical facility, possibly to clear the main roadway. A tow truck was requested shortly after first responders arrived, suggesting that at least one vehicle sustained disabling damage.
Medics and fire personnel assessed individuals on-site for injuries. While the exact number and severity of those injured have not been officially confirmed, the situation was treated as an injury accident by responding units.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved or the circumstances that led to the collision. The scene was cleared later in the morning, with traffic returning to normal.
