Gainesville, FL (January 22, 2026) – A 55-year-old Gainesville man tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle crash that occurred late Monday night, January 20, in Alachua County, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident happened around 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of NW 107th Terrace and NW 11th Avenue, west of Gainesville. Authorities say the man was driving a pickup truck northbound on NW 107th Terrace when the vehicle veered off the roadway. The truck traveled through a ditch and collided with a tree.
Emergency crews from Alachua County Fire Rescue responded to the scene, but despite their efforts, the driver was pronounced dead on site due to the severity of his injuries. His identity has not been publicly released at this time.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and there were no additional injuries reported. The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
