Colleton County, SC (January 22, 2026) – A tragic crash in Colleton County claimed one life and left another person injured on Wednesday morning, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred shortly after 9:20 a.m. along US 15 north, near Scenic Lane. Authorities reported that a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado traveling southbound crossed over the center line and collided head-on with a northbound 2004 Toyota Camry.
Emergency responders arrived quickly to the scene. Despite their efforts, the driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. No additional details about the severity of those injuries have been released.
The identity of the deceased has not been made public, pending notification by the Colleton County Coroner’s Office.
