What Is Commonly Reviewed in Truck and Van Collisions?
Crashes involving large commercial trucks and passenger vehicles are often examined in detail due to the differences in size and weight between the vehicles. Investigators typically review speed, right-of-way, and traffic signal timing at the intersection where the crash occurred.
Visibility and roadway conditions are also key factors, especially in early morning incidents when lighting may be limited. Damage patterns from both vehicles can help determine the point of impact and how the collision unfolded. In fatal crashes, additional review may include witness statements, vehicle data, and roadway markings to reconstruct the sequence of events. These findings help authorities understand how the crash occurred and whether any contributing factors were involved.
