Phoenix, AZ (January 22, 2026) – A serious pedestrian collision early on Thursday morning left two men hospitalized, one with life-threatening injuries, following a crash on Buckeye Rd in west Phoenix.
Phoenix Police responded to the scene shortly before 7 a.m. on January 22 near the intersection of 29th Avenue and Buckeye Road. Upon arrival, officers and emergency medical crews found two adult male pedestrians who had been struck by a vehicle. One of the victims suffered critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital. The second man sustained less severe injuries and is expected to recover.
A white sedan with significant front-end damage was found disabled in the roadway. Debris was scattered across the scene, as captured by aerial footage from Arizona’s Family news drone.
Police closed a portion of Buckeye Rd for several hours during the investigation. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. At this time, it is unclear whether impairment or additional vehicles played a role in the incident.
Phoenix Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
