Phoenix, AZ (January 22, 2026) – A teenage girl tragically lost her life on Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in Phoenix, authorities confirmed.
The fatal incident occurred shortly before 8:30 p.m. on January 20 in the area of 75th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road. According to the Phoenix Police Department, the teen was attempting to cross the road midblock when she was hit by a westbound vehicle.
Responding officers found the girl in critical condition at the scene. Phoenix Fire Department medics transported her to a nearby hospital, but despite their efforts, she was later pronounced dead. Her name and exact age have not been released pending notification of her family.
The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities have stated that impairment is believed to have played a role in the crash, though no arrests have been announced at this time.
