Placentia, CA (January 23, 2026) – A police pursuit ended in a fatal multi-vehicle crash Wednesday night in Placentia, leaving one person dead and several vehicles severely damaged. The collision occurred around 8:00 p.m. on January 21 near the intersection of Madison and Bradford avenues, according to the Anaheim Police Department.
Authorities reported that Anaheim police officers were pursuing a suspect when the chase came to a violent end at the intersection. While the reason for the initial pursuit has not been disclosed, the crash involved a pickup truck, a minivan, and a sedan—all of which sustained major damage.
Tragically, one person riding in the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not yet been released pending notification of family members. At least one individual was taken into custody at the scene, though officials have not confirmed the charges or their role in the incident.
Emergency crews responded promptly and worked for several hours to clear the wreckage and secure the area. Debris was scattered across multiple lanes, forcing road closures well into the night.
