Toledo, OH (January 24, 2026) – A 65-year-old man was transported to Toledo Hospital on January 23 following a motor vehicle accident that left him with injuries to his left hip and lower back, according to EMS reports. The man, who remained alert and oriented throughout, reported pain in his left hip radiating into his lower back following the crash.
EMS personnel noted that the injury was of particular concern due to the patient’s history of a prior hip replacement. He denied neck pain and did not lose consciousness during the incident. The crash reportedly occurred when another vehicle ran a red light and struck the patient’s vehicle on the driver’s side. No airbag deployment was reported in the collision.
Vital signs taken during transport included a blood pressure of 162/104, a heart rate of 126, a respiratory rate of 22, and an oxygen saturation of 99% on room air. The patient’s blood sugar level was recorded at 604. Although medics offered IV access, the patient declined and opted to wait until hospital arrival for further treatment.
The incident remains under investigation by local authorities, who are working to confirm the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
We extend our best wishes to the injured man and hope for his full and timely recovery.
