Norfolk, VA (January 24, 2026) – A two-person injury accident on I-64 westbound near 15th View St in Norfolk prompted an extensive emergency response on the night of January 23, with both victims reported to be in stable condition.
Crews from Engine 9, Ladder 9, and multiple medic units were dispatched after the crash was reported in the westbound lanes. Due to the location and traffic configuration, responders accessed the scene by traveling in the opposite direction along the ramp from 15th View. One of the injured individuals was transported immediately, while the second required assistance from a white pickup truck’s passenger side and was later taken for treatment.
Officials confirmed no entrapments but noted that additional medics were briefly considered before being deemed unnecessary. Coordination between fire, EMS, and command personnel allowed for swift assessment and care.
State police are leading the investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash. The affected area experienced temporary disruptions as responders worked the scene and transported patients.
