What Can Lead to Crashes Involving Motorcycles at Intersections
Crashes involving motorcycles at intersections often occur when drivers fail to yield or misjudge an approaching rider’s speed. Intersections require careful attention, as vehicles may be turning, stopping, or crossing paths.
Motorcycles can be harder to see than larger vehicles, especially in busy areas or when visibility is limited. This can increase the likelihood that a driver enters an intersection without noticing an oncoming rider.
Even at lower speeds, these collisions can result in injuries due to the limited protection motorcycles provide. Road awareness and proper right-of-way decisions are key factors in preventing such incidents.
