Winter Park, FL (January 26, 2026) – A 25-year-old man from Winter Park tragically lost his life in a multi-vehicle accident late Sunday night at the intersection of State Road 426 (Aloma Ave) and State Road 551 (Palmetto Ave), according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The deadly crash occurred just before 10:00 p.m. and involved three vehicles.
Authorities say the crash began when the man, driving a 1999 Honda CR-V eastbound on SR-426, failed to stop for a red traffic signal as he approached the intersection. At the same time, a 2024 Toyota RAV4 driven by a 24-year-old woman from Orlando and a 2018 Toyota Corolla operated by a 21-year-old man were stopped in the westbound left-turn lane with a green arrow to turn south onto SR-551.
The Honda entered the intersection and collided with the front left side of the RAV4. The force of the impact pushed the RAV4 eastbound, causing its rear to strike the front of the waiting Toyota Corolla behind it.
Emergency crews arrived on scene and pronounced the 25-year-old Honda driver deceased. The other drivers were involved in the collision but did not sustain life-threatening injuries, according to initial reports.
Authorities closed portions of the intersection during the investigation and cleanup. Florida Highway Patrol continues to examine the circumstances that led to this fatal crash.
We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the man who lost his life and offer our thoughts to all others affected by this tragic event.
