St. Charles, MO (January 26, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision early on Monday morning on westbound Interstate 70 left three individuals with injuries and caused significant damage to both vehicles involved.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. just west of 5th Street in St. Charles. Preliminary findings indicate that a 2013 Hyundai Equus was changing lanes from the third to the second lane when its rear left quarter panel collided with the front right quarter panel of a 2025 Kia Sorento traveling alongside it.

The impact caused both vehicles to lose control, sliding off the left side of the roadway before striking the median cable barrier. The vehicles came to rest along the roadside, both sustaining extensive damage.

The Hyundai driver, a 25-year-old man from St. Louis, suffered injuries and was transported by Pattonville Fire Protection District to SSM Health DePaul Hospital. In the Kia, the 35-year-old male driver and a 32-year-old female passenger, both from St. Louis, were also treated for injuries and transported by the St. Charles County Ambulance District to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles.

Trooper T.J. O’Sullivan led the investigation, with assistance from Corporal J.E. Lacy. Authorities confirmed both drivers were wearing safety devices at the time of the collision.

We extend our best wishes to those injured in this incident and hope for a full and swift recovery for all involved.
