Milwaukee, WI (January 26, 2026) – At least one person was injured in a hit-and-run crash that occurred on the westbound side of I-94 near North 22nd Street early on January 26. Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene just before 5:00 a.m. following reports of a personal injury collision.
According to dispatch audio, the crash involved a black vehicle—reportedly a Honda—and a silver sedan that fled the scene. Officers confirmed the incident had been upgraded to an injury accident shortly after arrival. Medical personnel were also sent to evaluate those hurt in the crash.
Units responded at multiple points along I-94 westbound, including near 35th Street and 22nd Street, indicating possible debris or vehicle positioning along a stretch of the highway. The exact condition of the injured individual(s) has not yet been made public.
Authorities have not released further information on the driver who fled. The Milwaukee Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and is working to identify the hit-and-run vehicle involved.
