Colorado Springs, CO (January 26, 2026) – A serious traffic accident involving a sedan and a semi-truck occurred early on Monday morning on the northbound side of US Highway 85 near the South Academy Boulevard on-ramp, resulting in reported injuries.
The crash took place on January 26, around mile marker 135. According to emergency radio communications, a black Honda sedan collided with the rear of a semi-truck. Witnesses stated the sedan became lodged beneath the trailer. Airbags deployed upon impact, and multiple calls were placed to 911, indicating injuries at the scene.
Law enforcement and fire personnel responded swiftly, including units from the sheriff’s office and emergency services teams. The injured individual or individuals were assisted on-site, though the full extent of their injuries has not yet been publicly detailed.
Authorities confirmed that the RV initially mentioned was not involved in the collision. Traffic in the area was likely impacted during the response, especially along the northbound lanes of US 85 approaching South Academy Blvd.
