Colorado Springs, CO (January 26, 2026) – A person was trapped and later rescued following a traffic accident near the intersection of Centennial Boulevard and West Fillmore Street in Colorado Springs early on Monday morning.
The crash occurred during the early hours of January 26, prompting a response from multiple emergency units, including Engine 9, Truck 9, Truck 5, and Rescue 17. Dispatch audio confirmed the presence of a trapped occupant upon arrival, triggering immediate rescue operations.
First responders established what was referred to as “Centennial Command” and initiated extrication efforts. The individual was successfully freed from the wreckage shortly after crews arrived. Medical teams, including Medic 48, evaluated the patient on-site. The full extent of the injuries has not yet been disclosed.
The exact cause of the crash is under investigation. Authorities have not confirmed how many vehicles were involved or whether additional injuries occurred.
