Jefferson Co, MO (January 27, 2026) – A two-vehicle accident on MO-30 eastbound, just west of Valley Dell Dr, left two drivers injured Monday evening after one vehicle rear-ended another at a traffic light.
The incident took place around 6:05 p.m. on January 26. According to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened when a 2020 Ford Explorer, driven by a 32-year-old woman from Barnhart, was traveling at an unsafe speed for the wet road conditions. As she approached a steady red traffic signal, she was reportedly following too closely and struck the rear of a 2019 RAM 3500 that had come to a stop.
First responders, including the North Jefferson County Ambulance District, provided medical aid at the scene. The female driver of the Explorer was transported to Mercy Hospital South for treatment of injuries. The male driver of the RAM, age 20 and also from Barnhart, sustained injuries as well and made his way to SSM Health St. Clare Hospital by personal transport.
Both vehicles were traveling eastbound at the time of the crash. While the RAM sustained moderate damage and was able to be driven away, the Explorer had to be towed from the scene by High Ridge Auto Repair due to extensive front-end damage.
The crash remains under review by authorities with Troop C. Weather and following distance are considered key contributing factors.
Our sincere well-wishes go out to both drivers as they recover from their injuries.
