Greene Co, MO (January 28, 2026) – An injury accident involving a sedan and a commercial vehicle occurred midday on Tuesday on US-60, approximately two miles east of Springfield. The incident left one driver with minor injuries and caused significant damage to at least one of the vehicles involved.
According to Trooper S. Glass of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D, the crash took place at around 12:10 p.m. and involved a 2019 BMW X7 and a 2015 International SF567 truck. Preliminary reports indicate that the truck was attempting a left-hand turn when it was sideswiped by the BMW, which was following too closely in the eastbound lanes.
The 59-year-old man operating the International truck, a Springfield resident, sustained injuries in the collision. He was transported to Cox-North Hospital via private vehicle for further medical evaluation. The 32-year-old BMW driver from Rogersville was reportedly unharmed.
Both vehicles required towing from the scene due to the extent of the damage. The BMW suffered extensive damage and was removed by a private party, while McDowell’s Wrecker Service handled the tow for the truck.
Authorities continue to investigate the factors that led to the collision, including driver behavior and vehicle positioning at the time of impact. No citations have been announced at this time.
We hope for a swift and full recovery for the injured driver as officials work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the accident.
