Madison, MO (January 28, 2026) – A two-vehicle accident on US 67 at Route C in Madison County on Tuesday afternoon left two people with injuries and resulted in extensive damage to both vehicles involved.
According to troopers with Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop E, the crash occurred around 12:05 p.m. when a 2024 Ford Maverick, traveling eastbound, failed to yield and entered the path of a northbound 2022 Ford Explorer. The force of the impact caused the Explorer to veer off the right side of the roadway, where it collided with a stop sign.
A 29-year-old female passenger from Marquand who was riding in the Explorer suffered injuries and was transported by ambulance to Parkland Health Center in Farmington for treatment. The 38-year-old male driver of the same vehicle, a Fredericktown resident, also sustained injuries and was taken by private vehicle to Madison Medical Center.
Both vehicles were heavily damaged, one reported as totalled and the other with extensive damage, and had to be removed from the scene by D and D Towing. Authorities reported that all individuals were using proper safety restraints at the time of the accident. No other vehicles were involved, and the roadway was cleared following the investigation.
Officers continue to examine the factors leading up to the crash.
