New Marion, IN (January 28, 2026) – A serious two-vehicle accident on U.S. 421 near County Road 950 South resulted in four individuals sustaining injuries on January 27. Multiple emergency agencies responded, including air medical crews due to the severity of the crash.
Firefighters from New Marion Volunteer Fire Department and Versailles Fire Rescue extricated three people who were trapped in the wreckage. All three were airlifted from the scene for advanced medical treatment. A fourth passenger was transported by ground ambulance with injuries that have not yet been specified.
The roadway was closed for a significant time as crews from Ripley County EMS, KDH EMS, Stat Flight, and UC Air Medical worked alongside local law enforcement to stabilize the scene and care for the injured.
The Ripley County Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the collision.
