Des Moines, IA (January 29, 2026) – A multi-vehicle crash involving injuries shut down the northbound lanes of E. 14th Street at Maury Street on Wednesday as Des Moines police and fire crews responded to the scene.
The collision, which occurred during the day’s active traffic hours, involved four vehicles and resulted in at least one reported injury. Emergency medical personnel and fire crews from Des Moines Fire Department provided assistance to the injured and worked to assess the scene.
Authorities closed E. 14th St northbound at Maury St to conduct a full crash investigation and clear the roadway of damaged vehicles and debris. The extent of the injuries has not yet been officially confirmed.
Traffic in the area was diverted while crews remained on scene. Officials are continuing their investigation into what led to the crash.
