Aurora, IN (January 29, 2026) – A head-on collision with entrapment on US-50 near Billingsly Dr sent two people to the hospital by helicopter on January 27. The crash was reported at approximately 8:29 p.m. near the Car Country dealership and resulted in serious injuries to both drivers.
Emergency responders arrived to find two individuals trapped in their vehicles following the impact. A 40-year-old woman sustained a significant leg injury and was airlifted from the scene at approximately 9:00 p.m. A 25-year-old man, who was reportedly unrestrained at the time of the crash, suffered injuries to his left leg and right arm, along with a possible loss of consciousness. He was flown out shortly after, around 9:21 p.m.
Multiple agencies assisted with the extrication and medical evacuation. The condition of both individuals remains undisclosed at this time. The cause of the collision is currently unknown. Authorities have not confirmed whether speed, distraction, or other factors contributed to the crash.
