Willard, MO (January 31, 2026) – A serious collision on January 30 involving two vehicles on State Hwy 123 north of Willard left two women injured, including one with serious injuries, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 5:43 p.m. when an 84-year-old woman driving a 2014 GMC Sierra attempted to cross the roadway and entered the path of a northbound 2020 Ford Escape. The vehicles collided with significant force, resulting in total damage to both.
The driver of the Ford Escape, a 33-year-old woman from Walnut Grove, was seriously injured in the crash. She was transported by private vehicle to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for further medical treatment. The 84-year-old Willard woman sustained minor injuries and was taken to Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, also via private vehicle.
Both drivers were reportedly wearing seat belts at the time of the collision. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident with assistance from additional patrol units.
