Jackson, MO (February 2, 2026) – An accident that resulted in injuries was reported on Saturday, January 31, along I-70 westbound near Adams Dairy Pkwy in Jackson County. The incident occurred at approximately 3:07 p.m. and involved multiple vehicles traveling through the area.
Information from the scene indicates that a westbound SUV entered a construction zone where traffic control devices were in place. During the sequence of events, the vehicle struck construction barrels, made contact with a concrete barrier, and overturned. As the vehicle came to rest, debris from the wreckage impacted a second westbound SUV nearby.
Medical personnel arrived to assess those involved. One adult male driver was evaluated at the scene and declined further medical treatment. An adult male passenger suffered injuries and was transported by Central Jackson County EMS to Centerpoint Hospital in Independence for additional care. Other individuals involved were also checked for injuries at the location.
The roadway experienced delays while crews worked to clear debris and remove damaged vehicles, both of which were towed from the scene. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
