How Turning Movements at Intersections Can Lead to Motorcycle Crashes
Crashes at intersections often happen when one vehicle is turning across the path of another. Motorcycles can be harder to see, especially during turns into driveways or parking lots.
Differences in speed and direction can reduce reaction time for both drivers. Even a brief misjudgment can result in a direct impact, particularly when one vehicle is crossing lanes.
Visibility, timing, and driver awareness all affect how these incidents occur. Paying close attention at intersections and checking for oncoming traffic can help reduce the likelihood of these types of collisions.
