St. George, UT (February 3, 2026) – An accident resulting in injuries prompted a major emergency response Saturday along State Route 18 near mile marker 30, north of the Central area. The incident led officials to urge drivers to use caution while traveling through the area.
Reports from the scene indicate that the collision caused significant damage, leaving at least one person trapped inside a vehicle. Fire crews arrived and began extrication efforts to safely remove the injured individual while securing the crash site. Paramedics provided immediate medical care as operations continued.
Due to the seriousness of the injuries, a medical helicopter was requested and landed near the scene. After being stabilized, the patient was transported from the area and taken en route to a hospital for further treatment related to a variety of injuries.
Traffic along SR 18 was impacted while emergency crews worked to assist those involved and manage roadway safety. Delays were reported as responders coordinated medical transport and worked to clear the scene.
