Why Rollover Crashes Can Cause Multiple Injuries
Rollover crashes often occur when a vehicle tips onto its side or roof during a collision or loss of control. These crashes can be more dangerous than standard accidents because passengers may be thrown around inside the vehicle.
Vehicles with higher centers of gravity, such as SUVs and trucks, are more prone to rolling over in sharp turns or sudden maneuvers. Even at low speeds, a rollover can result in multiple injuries if occupants strike the interior or are partially ejected.
Seat belts and airbags help reduce the risk of serious harm, but passengers can still suffer bumps, bruises, or fractures. Emergency responders carefully evaluate all involved and transport anyone who needs hospital care.
Rollover crashes often require road closures while crews stabilize the vehicle, check for additional hazards, and clear the scene, helping prevent further accidents in the area.
