Greenvale, NY (March 9, 2026) – A woman died after being struck by a car early on Monday morning, March 9, in Greenvale, according to reports. The crash occurred around 6:02 a.m. along Glen Cove Rd.
Authorities said a pedestrian was crossing the roadway eastbound when she was hit by a northbound vehicle. Officials later identified the woman as 69-year-old Claudia Moncada of Glen Cove. She was struck by a red 2018 Dodge Challenger driven by a 26-year-old man.
Emergency units responded to the scene and provided aid before the woman was taken to a nearby hospital. Hospital staff later pronounced her dead.
The driver stayed at the location after the crash while emergency crews worked at the scene. Additional details about the circumstances leading up to the incident have not yet been released.
