Why Early Morning Pedestrian Accidents Can Be Especially Dangerous
Pedestrian accidents during the early morning hours can occur when visibility is limited, and traffic patterns begin to increase. Drivers traveling to work may encounter changing light conditions as the sun rises, which can make it harder to see someone crossing the road.
Road design and crossing locations can also affect safety. Wide roadways, multiple lanes, or areas without clearly marked crosswalks may increase the risk for people walking across busy streets. Even at lower speeds, vehicles can cause serious harm when a pedestrian is struck.
Driver attention is another factor during morning travel times. Commuters may be adjusting to traffic flow, watching signals, or merging with other vehicles. In these situations, both drivers and pedestrians often rely on clear sight lines and predictable movement to avoid accidents.
