How Pedestrian Accidents Can Occur and Their Risks
Pedestrian crashes often happen when someone is walking near busy streets, intersections, or areas with limited visibility. Factors such as driver distraction, speeding, and poor weather can increase the risk of accidents. Even when crosswalks are present, pedestrians can be at risk if drivers fail to stop or yield.
In these collisions, injuries are frequently severe because pedestrians have little protection compared with vehicles. Hospitals may treat head injuries, broken bones, or internal trauma resulting from impacts. Safety measures such as sidewalks, adequate lighting, and driver awareness can reduce the likelihood of serious pedestrian accidents.
