Bono, AR (March 11, 2026) – An injury crash involving two vehicles caused significant traffic disruptions on U.S. 63 in Bono, located in Craighead County.
According to the Jonesboro-Craighead County E911 center, the collision was reported just before 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, along U.S. 63 north of the Arkansas 230 intersection.
Officials said two vehicles were involved in the crash, including a commercial motor vehicle. Authorities confirmed that injuries were reported, though the number of people hurt and the severity of those injuries were not immediately released.
Due to the crash, all southbound lanes of U.S. 63 were temporarily closed while emergency crews responded and worked to clear the scene. The Arkansas Department of Transportation reported that the highway remained closed for a little more than two hours before traffic resumed.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
We extend our best wishes for a full recovery to those injured in the crash.
Why Commercial Vehicle Crashes Often Lead to Highway Closures
Crashes involving commercial vehicles can significantly disrupt traffic because of the size and weight of the trucks involved. When large vehicles are damaged or block travel lanes, it may take additional time for emergency crews to remove debris and safely clear the roadway.
Highway crashes also require investigators to document the scene, especially when injuries occur. During this time, lanes may remain closed to protect emergency personnel and allow responders to assist those involved.
Drivers are often advised to slow down and remain alert when approaching crash scenes, as sudden traffic slowdowns can increase the risk of secondary collisions.
