Why Single-Vehicle Rollover Crashes Can Be Severe
Rollover accidents often occur when a driver misjudges a curve or loses control of the vehicle, especially at higher speeds. Vehicles with a higher center of gravity, like trucks or SUVs, are more prone to rolling over during sharp turns.
Investigators typically review roadway conditions, vehicle speed, and tire marks to determine how the crash occurred. Being ejected from a vehicle significantly increases the risk of serious injury or death, which is why seatbelt use is critical.
Understanding these factors provides context for why even a single-vehicle crash on a rural road can result in multiple serious injuries and fatalities.
