Why Intersection Crashes Often Involve Multiple Vehicles
Intersections such as the Beldon intersection along the Kentucky 90 Bypass bring together vehicles traveling from several directions. Drivers may be turning, slowing, or crossing traffic at the same point, which increases the chance of collisions.
Two-vehicle crashes at intersections often occur when one driver misjudges the speed or distance of another vehicle. Sudden turns, failure to yield, or confusion about right-of-way can lead to impacts between cars moving through the crossing.
When passengers are involved, injuries may vary depending on the position inside the vehicle and the direction of the impact. The angle of the crash and the speed of the vehicles can influence how serious the injuries become.
