Norfolk, VA (March 16, 2026) – A driver suffered life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle crash on Monday afternoon in Norfolk, according to authorities.
Officers with the Norfolk Police Department responded to the collision around 4:38 p.m. in the 5800 block of East Virginia Beach Boulevard in Norfolk, Virginia.
Police reported that two vehicles were involved in the crash. One of the drivers, a man whose identity has not yet been released, sustained life-threatening injuries.
Emergency responders provided medical assistance at the scene before transporting the injured driver to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Authorities temporarily closed the eastbound travel lanes of East Virginia Beach Boulevard while crews worked at the scene and investigators documented the crash. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes during the response.
By approximately 5:32 p.m., officials confirmed that all eastbound lanes had been reopened to traffic.
