What Can Lead to Serious Multi-Car Crashes on Highways?
Multi-car crashes on highways often happen when traffic conditions change quickly, leaving drivers little time to react. High speeds can increase the force of impact and make it harder to avoid other vehicles.
Intersections and connecting roads, like Trellis Lane, can add complexity to traffic flow. Drivers entering or crossing highways may face limited visibility or misjudge the speed of oncoming vehicles.
Vehicle spacing and attention are key factors in reducing risk. Maintaining a safe following distance and staying alert to surrounding traffic can help lower the chances of chain-reaction crashes, especially at night when visibility is reduced.
