Factors That Can Lead to Rollover Crashes on Highways
Rollover crashes often occur when a vehicle leaves the roadway and loses stability. Sudden steering movements, uneven ground, or striking an object can increase the chance of a vehicle tipping over.
Highway speeds can make these incidents more severe. When a vehicle travels fast, even a small mistake can lead to loss of control. Vehicles with a higher center of gravity, such as SUVs, may be more likely to roll in certain situations.
Seat belt use can reduce the risk of being ejected during a crash. Staying inside the vehicle often lowers the chance of severe injury compared to being thrown from it.
