What Risks Are Linked to E-Scooter Use in Urban Areas?
Busy approaches near 15th Street and Bridger Avenue can become hazardous when different types of road users share the same space. E-scooters often travel alongside larger vehicles, which can increase the risk of serious crashes.
E-scooter riders have limited protection compared to drivers inside vehicles. Even at lower speeds, a collision with a larger vehicle can result in severe injuries due to the lack of barriers.
Urban environments also bring frequent stops, turns, and changing traffic patterns. Visibility, rider positioning, and driver awareness all influence safety when scooters and vehicles interact on city streets.
