Train Crossings Require Extra Awareness From Drivers
Collisions between trains and vehicles can be especially severe due to the size and speed of trains. Unlike cars, trains cannot stop quickly, which means drivers must be cautious when approaching crossings.
Marked intersections often include signals, gates, or signs to warn drivers of oncoming trains. Even so, visibility, timing, and driver decisions can all affect safety at these locations.
When a vehicle enters a crossing at the wrong time, the impact can lead to serious damage or overturning. Staying alert and following crossing signals can help reduce the risk of these types of crashes.
