How Head-on Crashes Happen on Highways
Head-on crashes often occur when a vehicle crosses into an opposing lane of traffic. This can happen due to distraction, fatigue, or loss of control. On highways without barriers, even a brief drift can lead to a direct collision with oncoming traffic.
These crashes can be serious because both vehicles may be traveling at higher speeds. Road conditions, visibility, and driver reaction time can all affect the outcome. Staying alert and maintaining proper lane position can help reduce the risk of this type of accident.
