Why Are Hit-and-Run Crashes Involving Cyclists Especially Dangerous?
Cyclists are particularly vulnerable in traffic crashes because they lack the protection afforded to those inside vehicles.
When a driver leaves the scene of a crash, it can delay life-saving medical attention and complicate investigations. In cases involving larger vehicles, such as commercial trucks, the impact can be especially severe, increasing the risk of critical injuries.
Hit-and-run crashes highlight the importance of sharing the road responsibly and remaining at the scene to ensure injured individuals receive prompt help.
