What Can Lead to Serious Injuries in Local Roadway Crashes?
Crashes on local roads can result in serious injuries depending on speed, impact angle, and traffic conditions. Even outside of highways, vehicles may be traveling fast enough to cause significant harm during a collision.
Intersections and multi-lane roads can increase the chance of crashes due to turning movements and merging traffic. Drivers may need to react quickly, and small errors can lead to major impacts.
Vehicle safety features and seatbelt use can influence injury outcomes, but they do not eliminate risk. Emergency response and timely medical care also play a role in how individuals recover after a crash.
